The 1st “Meet the Alderman” Event of 2024 will be a child-friendly event hosted by Volumes Bookcafe. Bring the whole family for a storytime with the Alderman followed by an opportunity to ask questions and speak with him directly! Storytime will start right at 10:30am.

Please join the 1st Ward office for our first Clean Up Event of the year! This time we will be focusing our efforts on the West Town portion of the Ward. Participants will have a choice of 3 meetup points to choose which area of the neighborhood they want to help clean. All supplies will be provided by our office. Simply click here to register for the event so that we know how many tools to bring and to choose your preferred starting location. All ages are welcome to participate!

The 1st Ward is partnering with Chicago Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) to provide a child sexual abuse education and prevention training to anyone who may be interested. You do not need to be a 1st Ward resident to participate. Please fill out this form to register for the training. Please note that this will be a virtual training.

Have old but sensitive documents that you need to get rid of? Old electronics or prescriptions to recycle? Please bring them all to our Shred Event where we will offer electronics recycling, pill take-backs, and paper shredding! Just drive through the parking lot and hand your items to our staffers, and we will do the work for you.

We ask that you only bring 5 boxes of documents so we may accommodate as many residents as possible.

The 1st Ward is partnering with Openlands on a Mulching Event to help maintain our urban canopy in our commercial corridors! All supplies will be provided, and no previous gardening or tree-keeping experience is required. Please join us to keep our tree pits litter free and replace the mulch around the trees to keep them happy and healthy. Meetup location will be the 1st Ward office at 10am.
