1st Ward Map
The 1st Ward encompasses various neighborhoods and community areas: Logan Square, West Town, Wicker Park, Bucktown, Humboldt Park, Ukrainian Village, & East Village. Residents can look up what ward they are in by entering their address on the City’s website here or by using the map below to see if you live in the 1st Ward boundaries.
In May of 2023, the City underwent a redistricting of the Ward maps to accommodate population changes according to the census. Click here for a city-wide map of new ward boundaries which took effect in May 2023.

1st Ward Trimmed Areas
This is map of forestry grid sections and streets that have been trimmed by the Bureau of Forestry. The green shaded areas are entire grid sections that have been trimmed. The green lines are individual blocks have been trimmed in 2025. You may find more information on where the Bureau of Forestry will be on Mondays in the ward in our Services page under Streets and Sanitation.
The City of Chicago uses a grid system for tree trimming with 1-2 trim crews from the Bureau of Forestry (BoF) trimming trees in a 16-block area, or "grid," on a given day of the week. BoF trims every tree in the grid, and if these trees are properly cared for, they should not need to be trimmed again for at least five years.
